Becoming a Multistakeholder Co-operative
Your Co-op for the Future
The Urban Co-op and Wellness Hub are in the process of converting legal structure from a Company Limited by Guarantee to a Full Co-operative. As a viable route towards community ownership, we are currently looking at the potential of a Multistakeholder Co-operative model. This means there are various groups of people who can avail of the Co-operative in different ways. Your feedback is vital to this process. Thank you for taking a moment to help us identify the level of interest you may have as potential stakeholders in this proposed model.

Co-operatives emphasise that those members who actively use the services of the co-operative are the persons who control, benefit and also contribute to it. For example, making the policies at an AGM, gaining discounts and contributing time or finances to it. The principle of one member one vote applies regardless of financial input.
Financing for a co-operative can be in the form of membership fees and/or shares.
