Marijuana Business Daily (MJBizDaily), since 2011 the best-known producer of B2B news and trade shows serving executives and major investors in America's $6 billion cannabis industry, is seeking a Marketing Copywriter and Coordinator to aid in creating, editing, and delivering marketing copy and content for web projects, direct mail, digital ads, and other marketing communication channels as needed. Additionally, this role will aid in the overall trafficking of individual marketing tactics and campaigns.

Day to Day Job Description:
  • Help create messaging copy for and aid in managing development of in-house marketing communications for Marijuana Business Magazine and the Marijuana Business Conference and Expo events’ advertising, direct mail, email, and other associated marketing efforts.
  • Help draft and deploy weekly email marketing schedules.
  • Work with Marijuana Business Daily vendors in crafting effective and mutually beneficial copy for our industry partners.
  • Edit marketing and promotions copy for all marketing communication channels the company may choose to participate in. 
  • Help to draft and deploy messaging for MJBizDaily’s social media strategy.
  • Help update and refresh marketing related web site content and other online marketing tools on a weekly basis. 
  • Edit copy and communications as needed.
  • Aid in project work flow and communication with Marketing, editorial and sales as needed.

Required Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of copy writing, writing, editing or other agency account service experience on regional or national accounts or equivalent marketing experience in trade shows, advertising, and/or social media program development and tactical management. 
  • Your ability to write impeccably is imperative.
  • Your ability to write creatively is critical.
  • A basic familiarity with updating WordPress sites is beneficial.
  • Experience managing project and creative development timelines for direct, online and traditional marketing calendars to support the senior marketing manager and overall team.
  • Familiarity and hands on experience with e-mail marketing and direct mail campaigns in a B2B context.
  • Moderate understanding of psychology and how to engage the mind through the written word.

  • Understanding of the differences in writing styles for web, long form, and advertising.

  • While knowledge of the legal Cannabis industry is helpful, it is not required for the right candidate.
