Summer Institute II: Preparing for the BEI Advanced Performance Test (July 26th - July 31st, 2026)

If you are a pre-certified interpreter and are planning to take the BEI Advanced Level Performance Test, apply for Summer Institute II: Preparing for the BEI Advanced Performance Test, a course designed to prepare you for that next step.

Course Overview

This course will be offered via Zoom. It will cover expectations and genres for Expressive Interpreting, Expressive Transliterating, Receptive Interpreting, Receptive Transliterating, and Sight Translation. Each day of the course, participants will work with English and ASL source materials, practice interpreting skills, collaborate in small groups, and participate in peer discussions. The final day features a mock evaluation with group feedback.

Upon completing the course, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion for continuing education documentation. 3.45 DHHS CEUs have been requested for this course (3.0 I, 0.45 G).

Zoom and GoReact
The sessions will be hosted on Zoom. Participants need to purchase a GoReact account. The cost is $39.99 for 6 months of access.

Course Tuition
$125.00. Payment instructions will follow once your application is reviewed and accepted by the training coordinator.

All applications will be reviewed because seating is limited. Not everyone who applies will be accepted. The applicants who are accepted into the course will receive an email with confirmation and payment information, by June 23, 2026.

Applicants who are Texas residents will have priority. If all slots are filled, those not accepted will be added to the waitlist and will be notified of any cancellations or openings.
