Madison County is updating its Comprehensive Plan and would like your input! The Comprehensive Plan is updated every 5 years, and the plan serves as a general guide or a "blue print" to inform and assist local land use decisions.  Your answers will help to shape the updated plan. Most questions contain an "other" option where you can provide additional comments and thoughts. In total the survey contains 21 questions. You don't have to answer every question but the more responses received, the better the survey will reflect community priorities.  This survey should take about 10-15 minutes to complete.

Over the past few years, short-term rentals (Air BnB, VRBO, "glamping"), event venues (wedding venues), and agritourism activities (wineries, breweries, "pick your own" produce) have proliferated in Madison County and the region. In 2022, the Virginia Tourism Cooperation reported tourists spent $21.8 million in the County, up from $15 million reported for 2020.

* 18. Owned by Madison County, Hoover Ridge Park is a 180-acre park which features walking trails, athletic fields, picnic areas, disc golf, and regularly sponsors movies and concerts. 

A master plan has been developed that proposes expanding the park's recreational offerings and facilities. Funding for the proposed improvements would be mix of grants and local tax dollars. You can learn more about these proposed expansions by clicking here
