Teacher Self-Care Conference Call for Workshop Proposals- June 2019 Survey

1. Teacher Financial Health-Note: Sessions in this strand should focus on giving teachers the tools needed to live a financially free life before and after retirement. These sessions should be testimonials from people who have learned how to be debt-free, or financial experts who want to help teachers leverage their salaries to stop living "paycheck to paycheck". Sessions should be hands-on with clear strategies on how to help teachers.

2. Teacher Entrepreneur- Note: Sessions in this strand should focus on helping teachers use their talents to being an entrepreneur. Teachers will learn how to blog, create products, and market like a boss. We will cover everything from selling on Teachers Pay Teachers to writing books, creating websites, and everything in between. We're not looking for general sessions, but instead specific sessions such as: "How I Published My Book While Teaching", "I'm a 2nd Grade Teacher Who Became a Food Blogger" or "YouTube Transformed MyClassroom". Sessions should be hands-on with clear strategies on how to help teachers be entrepreneurs.

3. Teacher Physical/Mental Health- Note: Sessions in this strand will focus on teachers living the best physical and mental health of their lives. Sessions in this strand should focus on teachers actually learning the strategies to keep themselves healthy. We're not looking for general sessions, but instead sessions such as: "How Yoga Helped me with Chronic Stress", "Teaching Through Depression" or "5 Ways I Took Back My Mental Health While in the Classroom". Sessions should be hands-on with clear strategies on how to help teachers.

4. Teacher Burnout -Note: Sessions in this strand will focus on recognizing, treating, and combating teacher burnout. We are not looking for general sessions, but instead sessions such as: "I Experienced Burnout and Lived to Discuss It", "Burnout: Not How, But When It Happens", or "Burnout Helped Me Revive My Career as a Principal". Sessions should be hands-on with clear strategies on how to help teachers.

5. Teacher Leadership- Note: Sessions in this strand will focus on what it takes to be a leader in education. We are not looking for general sessions, but instead sessions on how teachers can "break into" leadership or thrive leadership positions. We are not looking for general sessions, but instead sessions such as: "5 Ways to Thrive as an Instructional Coach", "It Took Me 10 Years to Be a Principal, Here's What I Learned", "Learning How to Have Positive Relationships With Co-Workers as a Leader". Sessions should be hands-on with clear strategies on How to Help Leaders."

6. Professional Lives: Sessions in this strand will focus on how teachers can use their talents from the classroom to transition to other careers. We are not looking for general sessions, but instead sessions to give teachers strategies on how to leverage their work as a classroom teacher into other careers. Sessions such as: "I Turned My Job as a Social Studies to A Full-Time Position in a Non- Profit", "Revamping Your Resume for A Career Change" or similar ones. Sessions should be hands-on with clear strategies on how to help teachers.

7. Instructional Strategies: Sessions in this strand should focus on how teachers can solve authentic problems in the classroom. We are not looking for general conference proposals (i.e. How to Differentiate Products in Class) instead we are looking at how to solve problems teachers face on a daily basis (i.e. "How to Teach Math to Boys Significantly Below Grade Level". Sessions should be hands-on with clear strategies on how to help teachers.

8. Administrative Strand: Sessions in this strand will focus on how school/building administrators can solve the issues around burnout not only for their teachers but for them as professionals. We are not looking for general conference proposals, but instead want to really address the concerns that school administrators go through such as (Burning the Midnight Oil: Tips for Principals to Leave the Building at Reasonable Time). These sessions will take place separate from the general sessions and will have sessions for instructional coaches, content specialists, curriculum development, superintendents, etc. Sessions should be hands-on with clear strategies on how to help teachers.
