About this survey:

The NT Lived Experience Network is supporting ABC journalist Jacqueline Breen to conduct research for an online article about the support provided during a mental health crisis by NT Police and the trial Darwin Mental Health Co-Response Team (click here for more information).

The purpose of this survey is to hear from individuals in the community who experienced a mental health crisis and interacted with either the Darwin Co-Response Team or NT Police.  Family members or loved ones that have been present during these interactions are also welcome to provide a response with their perspectives.

Responses to this survey may be included in a de-identified way by ABC journalist Jacqueline Breen for the proposed article, and also by the NT Lived Experience Network for future advocacy endeavors related to the experience and needs of Territorians who experience mental health and related issues.

About the trial Co-Response Service:

The Darwin Mental Health Co-Response Team is a trial initiative, funded by the NT Government that commenced in October 2020.  The Co-Response Team consists of a mental health practitioner, paramedic and police officer that are based at the Casuarina Police Station and operate as a mobile team, responding to mental health related crises (refer to the NT Government media release for more information).

Outside of the Darwin region, and in all regions of the NT prior to the trial, the NT Police are primarily responsible for responding to mental health related crises.

Survey design:

Two survey questions are mandatory: Question 1 which indicates that you understand how the information you provide will be used, and Question 2 which identifies your role when completing the survey.  All other survey questions are optional and people are welcome to enter as little or as much information as they choose.

Responses to this survey will only be presented in a way where the identity of individuals can be protected.
