2020-2021 MLT Club Officer Nominations |
Explanation
Elections will take place at the September Meeting. All are encouraged and invited to nominate yourself or someone else for one or more of the following positions:
(a) The President (Lab Manager) shall preside over all meetings and shall be responsible for supervising all activities of the club.
(b) The Vice-President (Lab Supervisor) shall assume the President's responsibilities in his/her absence and assist the President in the performance of all club functions.
(c) The Secretary (Technical Specialist) shall record minutes of each meeting and be responsible for all correspondence of the club, including, but not limited to activity details, fundraising events, and field trips.
(d) The Treasurer (Lead Technician) shall oversee and keep accurate records of all expenditures and receipts of club funds.
As per Article VI of the MLT Club Constitution:
Elections of officers will take place at the beginning of each professional phase of the program. Members of the organization may vote with a single majority constituting a victory. To seek an office, a candidate must be nominated and seconded by a member other that himself/herself. Candidates may petition for multiple offices, but may only be appointed to one office per term. Vacancies for an office will be filled at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
A. Accountability- Should an officer feel they are unable to perform the duties of their office, they may step down at any time and a replacement will be elected at the next regularly scheduled meeting. Should a member of the club feel an officer is not living up to the responsibility of their office they may be impeached by simple majority vote of all members present and a replacement will be elected at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
