Intent to Participate in 2019-20 Academic Events

Greetings! As you know, the Contra Costa County Office of Education coordinates several county-wide "Academic Events/Competitions." The success of these programs is based largely on the number of high schools that choose to participate each year. Please let us know if you and your school intend to participate in one or more of the following programs:

  • Model United Nations November 8-9, 2019 or November 15-16. Diablo Valley College (Includes Fri. night dinner, & Sat. lunch)
    Cost: $175 per team/$40 per delegate
  • Mock Trial
    Tuesday & Thursday evenings in January/February
    Martinez Superior Courthouse
    1020 Ward Street, Martinez, CA 94553
    (Includes case booklets, snacks, & awards ceremony)
    Cost: Price structure is undergoing changes
  • Academic Decathlon
    *** Due to decreased participation, the CCCOE discontinued coordination of the East Bay Regional Academic Decathlon program in 2017-18. If your school does wish to participate in this program in 2019-20, please let us know. If we have enough interest we may bring it back!
    • Mid January 2020 – Essays @ school sites
      January 18, 2020 – Subjective Testing @ CSUEB, Concord Campus
      February 1, 2020 – Objective Testing @
      Los Medanos College, Pittsburg
      (Includes morning snack, lunch, & awards ceremony)
      Cost: $650 per school (first 12 students)
      $50 per student for additional participants.
