Infield Setup & Dismantle
Prior to the event the infield is pretty bare. Tables, chairs, barriers, carpet tiles and a variety of other items need to be brought on to the infield and setup for the event. This activity will be performed Thursday evening 9 February from 6:00 pm. After the event, we put it all away. This will occur immediately following the the finish of racing and final presentations on Sunday.

Registration (for Riders, Volunteers & Commissaires)
Riders come to the Registration Desk when they arrive for the event. They present their licence, sign on, and in return are provided with jersey numbers and infield access passes for themselves plus their handler. Registration personnel provide daily rider sign on sheets to the Chief Commissaire. Riders also leave the event via the Registration Desk.
Presentations
Being a championship event, presentation ceremonies are conducted throughout the event. This team erects the podium, prepares medals & presentation script, manages presenters & medalists. This small team pulls together a few things to ensure the presentations run smoothly and promptly.
Start Gates & Foam Strips
Certain events require the use of synchronised start gates on the front & back straights. These gates need to be quickly removed from the track as soon as riders have started. Again, certain events require the use of foam strips placed around the track. Riders may displace these strips during a race and they may need to be put back in place.
Spectators (Access / Ticketing / Info)
This team manages the entry of spectators and collects entry fees, sells programs and provides information to spectators.
General
This team deals with a variety tasks that pop up during the event. These include moving equipment around in the velodrome, providing food and drinks to commissaires and other volunteer personnel, assist with ambulance access to the venue, Results/Timing support, Commissaire support, Event Team food & drink, signage (outside & inside). Where required, assist other volunteer teams including providing temporary relief.
Team Leaders
As the event spans a number of days, one of the challenges is continuity, consistency and information sharing across a changing volunteer team. Ideally each team has a team leader who is present across all of the event days to help deliver this outcome. If you are interested in a team leader role, please indicate so at the relevant question below.
