Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Survey for Parents and Carers Using Services in Brent 2019

A key role of Brent Parent Carer Forum ( BPCF) is to work in partnership with commissioners and service providers to represent the views of parents and carers in order to influence services and get the best provision for children and young people aged 0-25 with SEND in Brent.

Following the national SEND reforms in 2014, and more recently the Local Area SEND Ofsted and Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection, BPCF, Brent Council and Brent Clinical Commissioning Group are keen to continue to understand the needs of families living in Brent and their experinces of using services.

Please help us do this by completing our survey by Monday 11th March 2019 . Your responses will be fed back to the Local Authority  and Brent Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to enable them to make informed decisions that will deliver more efficient and effective services to you as a parent, carer or family member looking after a child or young person with SEND.

This survey builds on the valuable information and feedback you have already provided  over the past 2 years. we want to know more about your experinces to ensure together we are making a difference. What has improved or where are there still gaps?

If you would like help completing this survey, or would prefer a paper copy, please email bpcfadmin@wspld.org or call Carol Foyle 07852101492 Thank you for your help.

The Children and Families Act changed the way in which children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are supported at school and in the community. The Act was implemented in September 2014. From September 2014 every local authority was required to have a “local offer” which informs parent/carers and young people with SEND what is provided in their local area, including what to expect from local early years providers, schools, colleges, health and social care. In addition, it includes information on how decisions are made about how services are allocated, how to request a personal budget, how to access more specialist support and how to complain or appeal.
