If you are a US service provider working with ORR-eligible populations or a person previously resettled as a refugee to North America, you may be eligible for a scholarship to join the 2024 North American Refugee Health Conference (NARHC) taking place August 5-7, 2024 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

About NARHC
NARHC, held annually, is for anyone interested or working in the field of refugee, immigrant and newcomer health. The conference aims to educate attendees on the latest and best practices in refugee and immigrant health. It also provides invaluable and inclusive networking. In 2023, the conference welcomed 750 clinicians, resettlement, academics, policy-makers, students and community members from across North America.

About the NARHC Scholarship Application
This year the Society of Refugee Healthcare Providers (SRHP), through support from Switchboard, will offer 50 scholarships to US service providers to attend NARHC. Additionally, the Society has a limited number of scholarships available from generous donations for individuals resettled to North America as refugees.

Scholarships are for the registration fee only. Travel, lodging, and food are not covered. It is not a cash award. If awarded, the Society will provide the awardee with instructions for registering for the conference and waive the fee.

Eligibility Criteria
Priority for scholarships will be given to service providers who:
● Identify as having personal or family experience of displacement and resettlement
● Are working in health-related services (for example, intensive case management, refugee health promotion)
● Have confirmation from their supervisor that if the registration scholarship is awarded, the organization can commit to covering travel to the conference, lodging and other associated costs

Scholarship Process
● Scholarships will be available on a first come, first served basis; they will be awarded in the order of those that apply and based on if applicants meet the eligibility criteria.
● SRHP will maintain a waitlist, so if an applicant’s plans has changed and they can’t attend, then the award will be given to those on the waitlist.
● SRHP will conditionally grant scholarships. To officially receive the scholarship and be registered for NARHC, recipients must submit proof of travel by June 1st.
