Which utility cost containment strategies are you most interested in exploring in detail? (Please choose up to 4 strategies)
(Required.)
Strategies to more accurately anticipate future system needs (e.g., improvements to planning processes, stranding risk consideration)
Strategies to leverage competition to fairly and transparently surface all least cost solutions to a particular need (e.g., all source procurement, increased utilization of aggregated DERs)
Strategies to better coordinate electric and gas utility planning (e.g., planning alignment, managed gas transition)
Strategies to lower utility financing costs to reduce the impact on ratepayer bills (e.g., reforming the way authorized ROEs are set, securitization)
Strategies to incentivize utilities to seek out cost savings (e.g., multi-year rate plans, shared savings mechanisms, capex-opex equalization)
Strategies to avoid inefficient expansion of the grid (e.g., revenue decoupling to make utilities neutral to deeper energy efficiency, time-varying rates to reduce peak loads, and careful use of capital cost trackers)
Strategies to encourage utilities to be more economic stewards of fossil fuel resources (e.g., fuel-cost risk sharing, and economic dispatch requirements)
Other (please specify)
