Introduction
The City of Seattle is conducting a community survey to inform the Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) update. To reduce risk and plan for future hazards, we need your feedback!

What is a Hazard Mitigation Plan?
The HMP provides a roadmap for the City to reduce risk to natural hazards and other disasters, such as earthquakes, winter storms, power outages, floods, landslides and more. Through this planning process, we will identify actions that reduce risk and future losses when an emergency or disaster occurs.

Why should you participate in this survey?
Participating in the hazard mitigation planning process gives you a voice in shaping the City's action priorities for reducing disaster risk. Your input helps identify the action priorities that will lead programs and projects in your neighborhood, from improving infrastructure and reducing disaster risk by planning for future hazards. By participating, you can help ensure the plan reflects local needs and leads to investments that make your block, neighborhood, and the City of Seattle safer and more resilient.

This survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete and is anonymous. Your information is confidential and the results of this survey will be summarized within the updated HMP.
