ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
-Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
-BScN preferred.
-Current BCLS certification.
-Current Certification in Venipuncture.
-2 years recent surgical experience within the past 3 years.
-Health teaching skills that demonstrate broad surgical nursing know ledge.
-Excellent computer skills.
-Member of RNAO preferred.
-Satisfactory attendance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)
-Provision of nursing care to meet the Standards of Practice of College of Nurses.
-Collaboration within an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, involving the patient and family.
-Act as a liaison for patients/families with members of the health care team.
-Work collaboratively to identify and implement process improvements to better meet the needs of patients and families.
-Maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
-Participation in various hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives.
