Dan Rawlins (June 3, 1948 - February 24, 2008) was one of Texas’s first and most dedicated advocates for HIV/AIDS prevention. He started his career as a drug and alcohol abuse counselor before becoming a pioneer in HIV/AIDS prevention and care in the 1980s. He served on the first board of directors for AIDS Services of Austin, and he was the first HIV/AIDS program coordinator at the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse and the Texas Department of State Health Services. He dedicated the last 25 years of his life to this work.
The annual recipients of the Case Manager of the Year Award and the Outreach Worker of the Year Award will receive full scholarships to attend the 2017 HIV Outreach & HEI Case Management Conference, including waived conference fees, travel, transportation, special hotel accommodations, personalized gift baskets and per diem expenses.
Nominations close on June 30, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be notified by July 14, 2017.
