NHS Providers Conference Neighbourhood Health Simulation: Planning and Delivery Layer Expression of Interest

Thank you for your interest in joining the Neighbourhood Health Service Simulation at the NHS Providers Conference this November.

The NHS is moving towards a Neighbourhood Health Service; one that’s rooted in communities, supported by digital innovation, and prevention driven. You’ll take part in two immersive “cycles” that mirror real neighbourhood activity.

Why take part?
This simulation is your chance to step into our future and test how integrated neighbourhood working would function in practice, at neighbourhood, place and system level.

As a participant in the simulation, you will:

  • See the impact of decisions unfold in real time.
  • Work creatively with colleagues from health, care, local government, the voluntary and community sector, and residents with lived experience to challenge assumptions, test new ideas and develop solutions.
  • Contribute to shaping the future of the Neighbourhood Health Service in Greater Manchester.
  • Build trust, consensus and commitment with colleagues across the system.
What roles can I apply for?
This is not about acting or putting on a performance. You will be asked to undertake your actual role within a simulated environment that reflects the pressures, relationships, and decisions of real neighbourhood working.

We are inviting expressions of interest from people who would like to take on roles in the delivery and planning layers of the simulation:

  • Delivery layer: participants work as integrated neighbourhood teams, made up of health, care, voluntary and community professionals. Participants will respond to resident needs, make day to day decisions, and experience the challenges and opportunities of working differently together.
  • Planning layer: participants in this layer take on the role of strategic and operational planners for neighbourhood working. They will practice joint decision-making, balancing competing demands, and using data to guide choices. Their focus is on shaping the conditions that allow neighbourhood teams to succeed.
NHS Providers is working in partnership with PPL, a social enterprise and leading management consultancy to design and deliver the simulation. If you'd like to take part in this unique experience simply complete this form to register your interest.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until all positions are filled.
