The International Sailors Society of Canada is a not for profit charity with the sole goal of improving the health and welfare of sailors visiting the shore of Canada by monetarily supporting seafarers centres across Canada. A large part of a seafarer’s health and welfare, is the ability to obtain shore leave to provide a short respite from shipboard life and to purchase some of life’s necessities. The goal of this survey is to determine the ease of shore access for seafarers calling at Ports and private terminals in Canada.
