Description Of The Study
The purpose of the study is to better understand how the use of AI chatbots relates to various aspects of mental health such as anxiety, depression, and emotional well-being.
If you agree to participate in the study, you will be asked to fill out a survey composed of 62 multiple-choice questions. Many of these questions have been used in prior studies. The survey should take approximately 10 to 12 minutes to complete.
Possible Risks Or Discomforts
The study has been approved by the university's Institutional Review Board and has been deemed to involve minimal risk. That is, the risks for completing the study are no more than the risks experienced in daily life.
Note that you may skip individual survey questions that you do not wish to answer, and that you are free to withdraw from the study at any time.
Possible Benefits
If you complete the survey, then you will have the option to be entered into a raffle for a $200 Amazon gift card.
Note that to be entered into the raffle, you will have to provide the researchers with an email address. This information will be collected separately from your survey responses and cannot be linked in any way with your survey responses. Also, any email address that you volunteer to provide will be permanently deleted following the raffle.
Confidentiality Of Records
None of the information collected by the researchers can be used to identify you. The researchers do NOT collect any of the following information: name, telephone number, email address, physical address, and IP address. Your responses are anonymous.
Your survey responses are stored on password-protected computers, are accessed only by the researchers, and are not shared with anyone else.
