Destination Management Plan - Final Consultation Feedback Survey |
Background
Yarra Ranges Tourism is the peak tourism and marketing body for the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges. As a not-for-profit leadership organisation, we are supported by funding from state and local governments along with local businesses actively working in the tourism industry.
Over the past twelve months, Yarra Ranges Tourism has been developing a high level 10-year Destination Management Plan for the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges.
The Destination Management Plan is critical to support ongoing sustainable tourism for the region whilst balancing the interests of local communities and businesses and generating ongoing employment opportunities for residents.
Melbourne’s rapidly growing population will lead to a doubling of visitor numbers over the next ten years, which is a major reason why this strategic approach is needed. Ensuring that the efforts of stakeholders responsible for managing the visitor economy are aligned with supporting the liveability of local communities is critical.
While the Destination Management Plan sets a strategy across the whole tourism region, sub-regional or local area action plans have also been developed for: Western Yarra Valley, Yarra Valley, Upper Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges.
We would love to hear your feedback on the summary with this short survey.
It is important to Yarra Ranges Tourism and the plan’s success that you believe in our region’s 2033 vision for the visitor economy, you feel confident with how it will be achieved and what will be considered success.
