About ULI Philadelphia Hines Adviser Prgram

The ULI Hines Student Competition offers graduate students across the country the opportunity engage in a challenging exercise in responsible land use. In the Philadelphia region, local graduate programs assemble student teams comprised of landscape architects, architects, planners and MBA students. ULI Americas will select a site, announced on the morning of January 13th, and the students will have two weeks to prepare a comprehensive design and development program for a real, large-scale site full of challenges and opportunities. Submissions consist of graphic boards and narratives that include designs, and market-feasible financial data.

ULI members have an opportunity to serve as an outside adviser to a team, by providing 2-3 hours of consultation between January 13-27, 2020. As a mentor, you will be paired with a local student team to supplement a discipline different than a team’s faculty adviser. All disciplines are welcome, and students will select the areas in which they need support.

In February, the jury will make final selections and in April, four finalist teams will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for the students to the host city to present revised proposals. Interested ULI Member advisers should complete this short form by December 31, 2020 and matches will be made by January 7. Student teams will work directly with their ULI adviser to find times to meet.
