@lantis Radio Play Performances

You are invited to participate in the creative research project of Stephen B. Platt examining Science Fiction in Live Performance. This research is part of Mr. Platt’s PhD Degree in the Creative arts, supervised by Dr. David Moody and Dr. Simon Order at Murdoch University.

Project Aim:
@lantis: A Science Fiction Radio Play is part of the practise-led research for the creative thesis of Mr. Platt. Mr. Platt is investigating which contemporary theatrical methods can be most effectively utilised by the genre of Science Fiction. His investigation will be conducted during the rehearsal/performance process and following research to be communicated within a written exegesis.

Your Involvement:
If you consent to take part in this research you will be asked to view/listen to a performance/s of @lantis: A Science Fiction Radio Play and respond to questions via an anonymous survey. This process will take no more than ten minutes following the performance. The resulting exegesis may use direct quotes and/or paraphrase statements from the survey.

Voluntary Participation:
Your participation is entirely voluntary. You may withdraw at any time without discrimination or prejudice. If you withdraw, all information from your survey will be destroyed.

Benefits of the Study:
Your participation within this research will provide you with entertainment in the form of a series of Science Fiction radio plays. The research undertaken will add to the knowledge pool in the area of Science Fiction and Live Performance.

Possible Risks:
There are no specific risks anticipated, however if you have any concerns please make sure that you ask any questions you may have, and ensure that they are answered before you agree to participate.

Research Outcome:
Once the creative work has been presented in its final form and the data you have provided has been collated, the researcher will add it to the knowledge amassed in his PhD. General feedback regarding the research will be made available on the official website for the production once the data has been collated. If requested, you will also be presented with a brief outline of the information discovered.

This study has been approved by the Murdoch University Human Research Ethics Committee. Any issues you raise will be treated in confidence and investigated fully, and you will be informed of the outcome.
