2025 Eventing Queensland State Squads Applications Survey

Applications to join the 2025 Eventing Queensland Elite, Futures & Youth Squad are now open.

Appointments for the Eventing Queensland Elite, Futures and Youth Squads are selected on events participated at from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024 wide. Further appointments can be made to the squad when combinations have reached the criteria at events in 2024 as and when the combination meets the Eventing Queensland Squad eligibility requirements.

Athletes must be prepared to sign a squad agreement.

Applications for Elite and Futures Squads close on Friday 10 January 2025.
Applications for Youth Squad will close on Monday 4 November, 2024.

Eventing Queensland Youth Squad applications, appointment and closing timelines have been adjusted due to athletes being required to attend the EQ Youth Development Camp 10-12 January, 2025 and the tight timelines around the nomination process for this event.

The applications are reviewed by Eventing Queensland and athletes who achieve the criteria will be invited to join the Eventing QLD State Squads upon ratification by the Equestrian Queensland Board.

A Queensland combination that meets Equestrian Australia’s High Performance criteria will automatically be placed on an Eventing Queensland Squad, but an application and agreement is still required to be submitted.

Qualification Criteria/Squad Selection Events

Elite Squad

1 MER attained at CCI4*-S or CCI4*-L (immediate appointment upon application)
3 MERs attained at CCI3*-L, CCI3*-S or CCN3* (or a combination of all 3)

Futures Squad

2 MERs attained at CCI3*-S, CCI3*L OR CCN3* (or a combination of the 2)
3 MERs attained at CCI2*-S, CCI2*-L or CCN2* (or a combination of all 3)

Youth Squad
Athletes are invited to join the Youth Squad from 12 years old until the year they turn 25 years of age.

For athletes aged from the year they turn 18 to the year they turn 25 years -

3 x MERs at CCI1*S, CCI1*-L or CCN1*-S (or a combination of all 3)

For athletes aged from the year 12 years until the year they turn 18 -

3 x MERs at EVA95 or above

The Eventing QLD Youth squad will be user pays to clinics. A subsidy to the EQ Youth Development Camp will be provided by Equestrian Queensland through the Sport Development Funding.
