MSSNY Physician Issue Priorities Survey for 2027 NYS Legislative Session

As MSSNY gears up for the 2027 New York State legislative session, we would appreciate your input! To help guide our 2027 policy agenda, please take a few minutes to complete the following survey and tell us how important the various issues should be to physicians and MSSNY.

Note: The first question is rank order, and questions 2 through 5 are of degree of importance.
1.Which advocacy issues do you think should be most important to MSSNY in the upcoming 2027 legislative session in Albany? Please rank each of the following topics 1 through 7, with 1 being the least and 7 being the most important.

Reducing prior authorization and other administrative hassles.
Continue working with Governor Hochul and legislative leaders on the implementation of changes to the Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) process to ensure patient access.
Preventing scope-of-practice expansion by non-physician practitioners.
Tort reform.
Improving public health.
Ensuring patient access to health insurance coverage options like Medicaid and other publicly funded health insurance.
Medicare Payment reform

Protect funding for the Doctors Across NYS (DANYS) student loan repayment program.

Protect funding for the MSSNY/NYSPA/NASW Veterans’ Mental Health Training Initiative.
