Mentor Eligibility

Thank you for your interest to be a mentor in our Kaleidoscope Mentoring Program (KMP)!  We’d love to have you on board.
Documents Needed: Please have your updated resume/CV and your National Police Clearance certificate, issued in the last 6 months, ready to upload.  If you do not have a police clearance, the City of Stirling can apply for one on your behalf (at no cost to you).

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible you must
  1. have worked for at least 2 years in your field in Australia 
  2. have a combination of industry knowledge and network contacts in your field that you want to share with our mentees
  3. are thinking about your professional legacy and what you will contribute toward your organisation and the people who work with you
  4. have a National Police Clearance Certificate issued within the last 6 months. 
  5. commit a minimum of 24 hours of your time over 3 months for mentoring (18 hours towards mentoring and 2 hours each for attending an Orientation session, Cultural Competency session and Graduation Ceremony).
The information we collect in this application will help us match you with a suitable mentee. We encourage you to provide us with as much information as possible about your professional experience, skills and expertise.
**Due to the COVID-19/ Coronavirus pandemic cycle 2 2020 Kaleidoscope Mentoring Program will be a combination of face-to-face (as per Government guidelines) /online/phone/webinar program.
Intake Timeline:
The timeline for the proposed intake is as follows:
  • 01 May 2020 Open 2020 Cycle 2 mentee application
  • 31 May 2020 Close 2020 Cycle 2 mentee/mentor application - specific mentors 10 June
  • 12 June 2020 Mentees and Mentors notified by KMP successful match
  • 15 June 2020 Mentees and Mentors confirm their mentoring match
  • 25 June 2020 Mentee Job-readiness Workshop sessions start
  • 02 July 2020 KMP 2020C2 starts with an Orientation Session
  • 11 or 13 August Cultural Competency sessions
  • 15 October 2020 KMP 2020C2 concludes at a Graduation Session
Others: The application should take about 15 minutes. Make sure to tick off the terms & conditions in the KMP Code of Conduct before you submit your application. If you encounter an error, please email Cema Santos, Mentoring Coach, with a description of the error(s).

Privacy Notice: Your information collected in this application form will be held in confidence and will be protected in a manner that satisfies the requirement of the applicable legislation. Your personal information will be retained in a secure manner and will be shared with the Department of Social Services for reporting purposes.
Matching: All mentors who are successful in their application are added to our database. Please note that we are unable to provide a match for every mentor in each cycle as this depends on the mentees (qualifications, experience and industry) who apply. Once mentors are on our database we keep them on database until we are able to match them and then we confirm their availability directly with them for that particular cycle.
