Session III Evaluation Form
Objectives:
1. Apply principles of evidence-based practice in the treatment of patients with traumatic orthopedic injuries to enable successful surgical and rehabilitative outcomes.
2. Determine the best approaches for treating nerve injury after TKA.
3. Discuss and evaluate new and emerging technologies for hip and knee arthroplasty.
4. Discuss and evaluate new and emerging technologies for shoulder and elbow surgery.
5. Discuss and review new and emerging technologies for femoral neck fixation, clavicle fixation and fenestrated implants
6. Discuss and review new and emerging technologies for foot and ankle surgeries.
7. Discuss and review new and emerging technologies for hand surgery.
8. Evaluate the different treatments related to hip instability/disclocation.
9. Evaluate the latest treatments for acute prosthetic infection.
10. Failed ankle nonunion
11. Identify extensor mechanism failure.
12. Identify Medicare's latest policy changes related to musculoskeletal care and determine how they will change your practice.
13. Identify new research findings.
14. Identify Texas' scope of practice laws related to physical therapy, chiropractic care, and podiatry.
15. Increase competence in treating joint injuries and conditions through the examination of case studies.
16. Increase competence in treating sports injuries through theexamination of case studies.
17. Increase competence in treating upper extremity and hand/kneeinjuries and conditions through the examination of case studies.
18. Review the clinical and practice evolution of orthopaedics from the perspective of orthopaedic surgeons who have at least three decades of experience.
19. Review the decades of experience by several orthopaedic surgeons to determine what practice and lifestyle modifications can be made to create a strong work-life balance.
20. Review 1MTP joint arthrodesis in the setting of failed arthroplasty(silastic, hemiarthroplasty, Cartiva)
21. Test physicians' knowledge in different orthopaedic subspecialties.
Target Audience: The target audience will be orthopaedic surgeons, residents, fellows, and physicians with an interest in orthopaedic treatment. Athletic trainers, coaches, and orthopaedic clinic administrators/technical staff may also be interested in the program.
