Neighborhood Art Project Survey for Spokane Transit’s Division Street Bus Rapid Transit Line (BRT) Station Designs

Spokane Arts is a nonprofit organization that supports arts and culture in our region. We have partnered with the Spokane Transit Authority (STA) to engage in a planning process related to the Division BRT, a bus-rapid transit route.

Spokane Arts will work with designers to create unique station designs for the BRT from downtown Spokane to Hastings Road. This survey was created to gather information about the neighborhood stories, landmarks and people to help guide the creation for the place statements for each of the neighborhoods along the line. The neighborhoods adjacent to the BRT line include downtown, Riverside, Logan, East Central, Emerson / Garfield, Nevada Heights, North Hill, Shiloh Hills, and Whitworth.

Spokane Arts is seeking input from the community on how to add "identification" elements to each station to ensure every station feels welcoming, vibrant, and reflective of the identity and history of the communities it serves.

Identifying/artistic elements at transit facilities create a sense of community, enhance the beauty of the entire transit system, and help discourage vandalism and graffiti.
