Mental Health and Addictions Pilot Project Survey – Health and Social Services Professional |
The Niagara Ontario Health Team - Équipe Santé Ontario Niagara (NOHT-ÉSON) is undertaking a project to understand better the current gaps in accessing community services and develop system solutions to address the emergency departments (ED) and urgent care centres (UCC) being the first points of contact for mental health and addictions-related (MHA) care.
As part of this initiative, we are seeking to engage with health and social service professionals to understand why 18 to 25-year-olds from Fort Erie have visited an ED or a UCC.
Preliminary data has indicated that approximately 20% of Fort Erie residents from this age group have visited an ED or a UCC as the first point of contact for MHA-related care in the last two years.
