Adoption Services (Family First Act)

We are seeking to identify post-adoption support programs that may meet the criteria to be included in the list of services that states can offer under the Family First Act. Under the Family First Act, a state (if they choose the option) can provide up to 12 months of in-home services, mental health and/or substance abuse treatment and prevention services. The child in question must be considered a “candidate for foster care” meaning they are at-risk of foster care. Services and treatment can include the family. There is no income eligibility requirement and no limit to the number of 12-month spells of such service/treatment. This potential service includes a child who has been adopted. This means that after an adoption—even if years later—could be covered by such services, post-adoption services. Please consider responding to the following questions in regards to your agencies post-adoption services, if you have multiple options in your community please feel free to submit multiple surveys to outline all of the services available.
