Help Develop Programming and Articles for All Career Levels and Backgrounds

The AAPS Career Development Committee develops programming to support career growth for members in all sectors and career stages of pharmaceutical science. The committee frequently brainstorms topics, recruits speakers and writers, and discusses soft skills in leadership and management that pharmaceutical scientists seek to develop.

The Career Development Committee’s projects include:

- Developing the Career Development Tracks presented at PharmSci 360 and the National Biotechnology Conference (NBC)

- Developing quarterly articles on Career Development topics for Newsmagazine

-  Developing quarterly webinars on topics related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) issues that affect scientists

Committee member requirements:

1. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in pharmaceutical science. 

2. Maintain membership in AAPS through term of service.

3. Maintain membership in at least one AAPS Community.

4. Attend hour-long teleconferences each month.

5. Brainstorm career-oriented articles, webinars, and live sessions.

6. Use personal networks to assist in sourcing authors and speakers.

7. Assist in developing calls for Career Development Programming and selecting sessions for presentation.

Career Development Committee members are also encouraged to contribute articles and session proposals themselves.

AAPS is seeking 4 members for this committee, including a vice chair who will lead the committee as chair in 2024.
