John and Pearl Olson Leadership Scholarship 2023

Introduction

Application Deadline: February 15, 2023

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria.
1. Must be a Junior, Senior, or 5th-year student seeking teacher certification in the 2023-2024 academic year (Not eligible if graduating this year) 
2. Minimum 3.0 GPA
3. Demonstrate financial need
4. If selected, write letter of thanks to the trustee of the Pearl Olson Charitable Trust
You will be asked to complete the following four essay questions. We recommend that you first complete these questions in a Word document and then paste them in the survey as it is not designed to allow you to return to your application where you left off.
Tell us about your favorite high school teacher. How did that teacher inspire you?
 
Describe your community service during high school and college. Why did you become involved in serving others?

Once you complete teacher certification, what would you like to achieve over the next five years?

Describe your financial need in your own words. Let the scholarship committee know the challenges you face in paying for college. Examples would include employment status, size of family, and other financial obligations.
