ASPS Clinical Practice Guideline: Abdominoplasty & Panniculectomy. Part I: Seroma Prevention

We are pleased to announce that the ASPS Evidence Based Clinical Practice Guideline entitled “Abdominoplasty and Panniculectomy, Part I. Seroma Prevention” is approaching publication. The peer review period will be open for 4 weeks beginning on September 21, 2026 and ending on October 21, 2026. All reviewers are asked to disclose conflicts of interest and acknowledge a non-disclosure agreement for the guideline draft. All comments will be reviewed by the workgroup and revisions made at their discretion.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) defines conflict of interest as: “an interest held by a member that could influence the member or be perceived as influencing the member to act contrary to the interests of the Society or the Foundation and for the member’s own personal benefit or for the benefit of an immediate family member or business associate. For purposes of this policy an immediate family member is defined as a member’s spouse, children, parents, siblings and brothers and sisters-in-law.”
