Purpose of Research Survey: 

A new study aims to break new ground in the space of Guideline Income Reports prepared by CBVs for Family Law. An innovative research proposal by Jean-Claude Desnoyers, FCPA, FCA, CBV, Certified Mediator, and Alexandra Danis, LL.L, CRHA, is the latest scholarly work to be honoured with sponsorship by CBV Institute.

The first phase of the study involved roundtable discussions to obtain in-depth input from CBVs.  The second phase of the study was a survey amongst CBVs and Students registered in the CBV Institute Program of Studies.  The third phase of this study is a survey amongst family law lawyers and judges to obtain their input as to how CBVs can enhance the quality and usefulness of their work performed in Family Law cases.

This important survey is being undertaken to gain a better understanding of best practices in family law, with respect to the determination of available income of an owner of a company under the Federal Child Support Guidelines.

As a professional experienced in family law, your input is essential to shape the research findings. With your help, research will be performed to investigate the best practices in the determination of available income of the owner of a company under the Federal Child Support Guidelines. 

Results from this research initiative will be disseminated in a published paper.  Conclusions will also impact future education and further CPD planning by CBV Institute.
