Dear PlayGarden Families,

As many of you know the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the closure of our preschool program and will likely prevent us from offering summer camp activities.  None of us know when it will be safe to restart providing these programs. We are deeply saddened that our children are not able to participate.  We intend to restart these activities when it appears to be safe for children, families, and staff to do so.

The PlayGarden is subject to many governmental jurisdictions that determine whether we will be allowed to be open, including state, city, county, and parks department guidelines.  We can anticipate based on UW and other projections that by August infection rates will be low enough to open playgrounds, however, we expect some families may be quite cautious about returning to usual activities given their children’s special health care needs.  We’d, therefore, appreciate your input as to how you regard your future association with the PlayGarden so we can plan more accurately.

Responses to this survey will be used for planning purposes only. All answers to this survey are anonymous and confidential. We look forward to your responses.

Warmly,
The PlayGarden Staff and Board

Question Title

Examples of things the PlayGarden could have in place include:
  • Social distancing procedures for staff, parents and campers (thus limited number of people allowed to attend and run summer camp)
  • An exposure-response plan for notifying anyone who may have been exposed to a camper/family member/staff with COVID-19 symptoms
  • Requiring the use of, and access to face masks for staff and family members, but not requiring face masks for campers.
  • Requiring the use of, and access to washing stations/hand sanitizer for all staff, campers and family members
  • Limiting access to indoor areas to eliminate the possibility of congregating in higher-risk places.
  • Implementing new drop off and pick up procedures (Campers and bags are brought to the gate, family members are limited to gate pick up and drop off)
  • Increased cleaning and sanitation protocols before, in between, and after camp
  • Conducting health screenings (including temperature scan) for ALL staff, parents, and campers before camp
  • Conducting health screenings (including temperature scan) for staff only before camp.

Question Title

* 8. If /when we are allowed by local governments to reopen, what is the primary reason or immediate need you would consider coming to PlayGarden for? (Please assume for this question that stringent health and safety protocols were in place.)
