Introduction

The Commonwealth Government has funded a project that aims to develop a community designed plan for primary health care services in the Glamorgan Spring Bay local government area. The project is being led by cohealth who will be operating the medical practices in Triabunna and Bicheno starting in September 2023.
 
As a resident of Glamorgan Spring Bay you are probably aware that the delivery of health services that meet the needs of the community has long been an issue for the East Coast of Tasmania. In 2011 the GSB Council established East Coast Health and took over management of the Triabunna and Bicheno medical practices. The Council also collects a $90 medical levy from rate-payers for financial support of the medical services.
