Distillers South Australia is inviting expressions of interest from South Australian distilleries to participate in Sustainability in Distilling program in 2026.

This practical program supports South Australian distilleries who have their own spirits manufacturing facility to build capability in sustainability, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction.

This program has been made possible thanks to the support of Green Industries SA via their Lead-Educate-Assist-Promote (LEAP) Program.

EOI closes COB 31 October 2025. Applications and places in the program will be assessed and allocated in order of submission. Places are limited.

Program Details (distillery committment of approx. 35 hours over 8 months required)

The Sustainability in Distilling program will include 3 free full day practical sustainability workshops hosted by 2XE, in partnership with Distillers SA, on the following topics at the following times;

Wednesday 4 February – How to collect data, understand and report on your carbon emissions, manufacturing efficiency and costs, and sustainability outcomes as a business.

Wednesday 29 April (@ Tin Shed Distilling) – How to conduct your own sustainability audit in your business and identifying practical opportunities for improving your energy and water usage and waste in your operations.

Wednesday 17 June (@ Incognito Distilling) - Identifying practical opportunities for reducing your waste (including energy and water wastage) and implementing circular economy principles into your manufacturing and production process.

A number of tools and resources will also be supplied to support your training including;
  • Emissions baselining spreadsheet
  • Data collection checklists
  • Sustainability audit checklist templates
  • Sustainability planning templates
Distilleries will have access to 8 hours of free business mentoring with 2XE sustainability consultants to improve and refine the efficiency and effectiveness of their manufacturing process.
