The Art Institute Teen Council is a group of 15 creative, passionate, and dedicated high school teens who work at the Art Institute to help make the museum more welcoming and engaging for all young people.

This year the Teen Council’s major project will be to design a museum resource that any teen who comes to the Art Institute could use to have a inspiring, fun, positive, thought-provoking, and/or meaningful museum experience. What does this look like? We need you to help us figure it out! To get there, Teen Council Members will probably:
-Do a lot of visionary thinking and brainstorming about the wild possibilities of a museum experience
-Dive deep into artworks, artists, and the museum-- look at art, talk about art, interpret art, make art, critique art...
-Test out lots of ideas and get feedback from ACTUAL TEENS
-Create a real-life resource that will be used by thousands of teen visitors to the museum (!)
-Plan and host a launch party to spread the word about this project

Please take a look at the info below to see the typical schedule, commitment, and benefits of participating in the Teen Council. If you think you could be a great fit, please apply by the end of day July 11, 2017! You can always email us with questions at teens@artic.edu. THANK YOU!
