An important feature of the 2024 National Bridge Preservation Conference (Salt Lake City, UT, September 9 - 13, 2024) will be two separate time periods devoted to outdoor and indoor demonstrations of preservation technologies - materials, processes, equipment, computer applications, etc.
If you wish to propose conducting a demonstration at the conference, please address each one of the questions in the survey which can be started with the question below.
PLEASE NOTE: the following guidance will govern in determining if a proposed demonstration is suitable for either the outdoor or the indoor conference demonstration venue.
1. The default venue for demonstrations will be the outdoor space. Available space for indoor demonstrations is limited and first consideration will be given to proposed demonstrations that cannot be effectively conducted outdoors. One example is demonstration of a computer application that must be shown on a screen.

1. The default venue for demonstrations will be the outdoor space. Available space for indoor demonstrations is limited and first consideration will be given to proposed demonstrations that cannot be effectively conducted outdoors. 2. If there are extenuating circumstances which prevent bringing necessary heavy equipment to the conference site, please describe those circumstances for the demonstration planning committee to review and consider alternate approaches to demonstrating the subject technology.
3. The demonstration must not:
a. Present significant risk of damage to the pavement in the outdoor demonstration area or any damage to an indoor demonstration room.
b. Create sustained noise levels that interfere with nearby demonstrations.
c. Produce any toxic vapors.
d. Leave any debris or permanent stain on the demonstration areas after final cleanup is completed (NLT 3:00 PM, Thursday, September 12.
4. The default space for each outdoor demonstration will be 15 feet deep by 20 feet wide – any requests for space beyond those dimensions must be reviewed and approved by the demonstration planning committee and will occasion a supplementary fee. Adequate space for observers to stand will be provided in front and on both sides of each 15 X 20 demonstration space.
5. Each indoor demonstration will be allotted 25 minutes in a closed room; indoor demonstrations will be scheduled and times and room designations will be included in the program.
