Techie Camp Student Application: Summit Road STEM Elementary School

With support from Battelle, TECH CORPS will implement its Techie Camp® program with 20 elementary school girls at Summit Road STEM Elementary School during the summer of 2019.

Techie Camp is a full-day, week-long summer experience designed specifically for elementary and middle school students. The goal of Techie Camp is to engage students in activities that can stimulate a deeper interest in technology as well as provide opportunities for them to express their imaginations. Students can take a "deep dive" into Programming, Robotics, App Development or Web Development. Each camp is comprised of 20 students and led by two TECH CORPS Instructors. Families will be responsible for transportation and lunch/two snacks/beverages.

Topic: Elementary School Robotics
Eligible Participants: Rising 3rd - 5th Grade girls who attend Summit Rd STEM Elementary
Description: Students will explore intermediate engineering and programming at this camp. They will expand their logical and mechanical thinking skills as they work in teams to design and build the ultimate robot. Students will discover their inner creativity while developing their ability to troubleshoot dilemmas as they interact with the Lego Mindstorms EV3 components.

THIS OPPORTUNITY IS ONLY OPEN TO STUDENTS WHO MEET BOTH OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
-Female student who attends Summit Road STEM ES
-Will be enrolled in the 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in the Fall of 2019.

Student Selection Process:

Students interested in being selected to participate will need to complete the full application. Up to 20 students will be selected for each camp based on their application. Please note that incomplete applications will NOT be considered. Students will be notified of selection by email.  
 
Students should complete the full application for consideration. Up to 20 students will be selected to participate. Students who apply late may be placed on a waiting list if the camp is not yet filled.
