Community Awareness - Riddells Creek

Welcome to Riddells Creek Landcare.

We’re a volunteer community group of people who live in Riddell and around the south of the Macedon Range.

If you’re new to Riddell, a long-time resident or visitor, find out how much you know about the landscape around the town.

Thanks for taking the time to complete our short survey.
1.Are you familiar with the bushland range behind Riddells Creek?

This is where Macedon Range meets the grassland plains. The drier west-facing side is Conglomerate Gully. The damper, east-facing side is … well, go to the next question!
2.Do you know the east-facing side of the range along Gap Road has a name?
3.The eastern side of the range is called Barrm Birrm (pronounced "Barram Birrim").  Have you ever been there?

In Woi wurrung, the language of the Wurundjeri People, barrm birrm means ‘place of many yam roots,’ a reminder of the food here, and the way the natural world supports human life.
4.If you answered "yes" to Q3. why did you go there?  Please check all that apply to you.
5.Thinking about native bushland like Barrm Birrm, which of these activities might interest you?  Please check all that apply to you.
6.How much do you know about Barrm Birrm?  Please check all that apply to you.
7.Buying back private lots is probably the only long-term solution that will protect this beautiful bushland.

Would you support Barrm Birrm being purchased by the State Government and made a Bushland Reserve?
8.What is your relationship to Riddells Creek?
9.What age category fits you?
10.Yes, I'd like to hear more about walks and activities in Barrm Birrm - here's my name and email
