Thank you for your interest in participating in the Social Impact Investing executive education course by the Tony R Wells Foundation.

The following application contains two parts. The first part of the application is MANDATORY and includes general contact information. This information helps us understand you, your organization, and your role within your organization so that we can tailor the course's content based on your needs and background. This section should take 10-15 minutes to complete.

The second part of the application is for those interested in applying for a scholarship. This OPTIONAL section will not impact your acceptance to participate in the course. The total pool of scholarship money varies from class to class. Participants are encouraged to seek alternative scholarship sources in addition to this application. This section contains 4 questions limited to 250 words each.

KEY TERMS

SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP - An activity that seeks a significant social or environmental impact while also earning a profit. Social entrepreneurship helps achieve organizational sustainability by lessening reliance on grants and donations.

IMPACT INVESTING - Philanthropic money, usually offered by foundations, that is invested into social enterprise ideas. It can come in the form of debt, equity, or recoverable grants. However, it is NEVER in the form of a traditional grant. It is commonly used to assist with financing operations, supporting organizational growth, or starting new social enterprise activities.

FINANCING RESOURCES - Includes a foundation providing low-interest loans or lines of credit, potentially lowering financing cost from a traditional bank. Grants, donations, and government reimbursements are NOT considered financing resources. Rather, they are funding sources.
