You are being asked to participate in a research study being conducted by graduate students Alexandra Fretter and Daniela Nolasco at DePaul University. We are asking you because we are trying to learn more about Emergency Department nurses experience of responding to an emergency in public. The purpose of this study is to analyze nurses’ perspectives on what factors exist to drive a nurses’ response to an out of work emergency. To participate, you must be a Registered Nurse currently working in an Emergency Department who has responded to an out-of-hospital emergency. This study will take about 20 minutes of your time. If you agree to be in this study, you will be asked to respond to an anonymous questionnaire. The questionnaire will include questions about overall experience and motivation behind responding to an unexpected emergency in public. You can choose not to participate. There will be no negative consequences if you decide not to participate or change your mind later. If you have not responded to an out-of-hospital health emergency, thank you, and please exit the questionnaire.
