Rockwood South PSO Indications of Interest

Like elementary school, middle school volunteers are greatly appreciated and always needed!

Parent participation is crucial to the success of our school, and we'd like to invite you to become an active member of our PSO for the 2022-2023 school year.

Each year, there are new opportunities for parents to volunteer and lead in our PSO, as students move on to high school.

This year is no different. We are looking for several new parents to join us and help us make 2022-2023 a great school year for our students, their families, and our teachers and staff.

Question Title

* 1. I am interested in volunteering for the Rockwood South PSO for the 2022-2023 school year. Please contact me with more information on the following roles.

Co-President - Assist the President in his/her duties; 2-3 year commitment if possible, 1 year as co-president, 1 as president, and 1 year as Past-President if possible (not required)

Secretary - Take minutes during PSO meetings, disseminate minutes for approval, and have approved minutes published to PSO site,

Social Media - Manage the Facebook and Twitter pages for the PSO.

Staff Appreciation - Responsible for the welcome staff breakfast, appreciation events for staff throughout the year, including the end of the year, and on their "special days.” Coordinate dinners, volunteers, and donations provided to RSMS staff during parent-teacher conferences.

Volunteers/School Support - Assist in finding volunteers for events; maintain volunteer lists; Coordinate volunteer celebration with RSMS administration; Update the PSO Bulletin Board throughout the year. Coordinate with RSMS staff and teachers on volunteer needs within the school.

Sixth-Grade Ice Cream Social - Plan the annual fall ice-cream social for the sixth-grade class.

Future Falcon Fun Night - Chair spring event for fifth graders incoming to RSMS.

Incoming Sixth Grade Bag/T-Shirt Coordinator - Facilitate the ordering of the incoming sixth-grader t-shirts and cinch bags in partnership with fifth-grade parent representatives from each incoming Fenton quadrant elementary school.

Eighth-Grade Falcon Blast - Coordinate the 8th grade year-end activity

Eighth-Grade Semi-Formal - Coordinate the 8th grade semi-formal dance in the spring.

Cotillion - Serve as vendor point-of-contact, schedule dates, and manage registrations for Cotillion etiquette/manners program in the fall.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Parent Committee - Participate in committee to explore ways to celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion in our school

Fundraising - Restaurant Events - Responsible for restaurant fundraisers to raise funds for the PSO.

Scholastic - Serve as liaison with Scholastic Book Fairs, and coordinate one fall and one spring store sale (typically at same time as parent-teacher conferences)
