Forensic Sciences Mentoring Institute

Grow your interest in forensic science with our 5-week summer program! As an FMI student, you will get to learn about techniques used in forensic science and experiment with instrumentation used in real forensic laboratories in the areas of forensic biology, forensic toxicology and forensic chemistry while analyzing simulated forensic cases.

Each applicant shall submit an official transcript, one letter of recommendation, and one essay (100 word maximum) briefly describing his/her career goals. The letter of recommendation can be submitted separately via email if necessary. 

Applications for the 2021 Summer Program are due by:
April 30, 2021

All application and supplemental materials MUST be received by this date.

Program Eligibility:
  • Currently enrolled in high school
  • Sixteen years of age or older by June 18, 2021 (no exceptions - this is required for insurance compliance)
  • Completion or evidence of enrollment in biology, chemistry, and/or algebra with passing grades
  • Availability throughout the duration of the program (weekdays from 9:00AM to 4:00PM, June 21-July 23)
