Help shape local news and information for Mallacoota
- 5 minute survey -

Mallacoota and District Recovery Association (MADRA), with support from Australian Business Volunteers (ABV), is asking the Mallacoota and district community what kind of local news and information service would be most useful in the future.

Since the closure of The Mallacoota Mouth, many people have spoken about the value of reliable, positive and locally relevant information. We are exploring a possible Community Communications Platform. This simply means a trusted local service that could share news, notices, events, “What’s On”, updates from community groups, school and youth activities, local history, business information, and important community or emergency information. It could be provided through a mix of formats – for example, a printed publication, website, email newsletter, mobile app, social media, or other suitable channels.

We would like to hear your thoughts on the following ten quick questions. Your answers will help establish the level of support for a future service, what might be feasible, what it could look like, and how it could possibly be sustained over time.

Responses are needed by Wednesday 9 September 2026. We look forward to hearing from you!
