Community Vote on a Toowong-West End bridge and the future of the old ABC Site
All over Brisbane, we’re seeing public facilities and green space sold off, with hardly any new infrastructure to keep up with rampant profit-driven development.
The former ABC site in Toowong used to be publicly owned, and selling it off was a grave mistake. Now that the developers are back to the drawing board, we are calling on the State and Federal Governments to buy back the land and create new public space for this inner city hub.
To plan better cities we need to fundamentally transform and democratise our planning system to restore power in the hands of the community. Before advocating a particular vision for this land, we want to know what you think should happen to the former ABC site, and whether you agree that this would be a good location for a walking and cycling bridge. This survey has been created to give local residents an opportunity to have a meaningful say on what happens to this site.
Data use: The information collected here will be used to shape Michael and Jonno’s policy positions at both the council and state government levels. This data will be stored in the Gabba Ward or Maiwar Electorate office databases depending which side of the river residents live. Unless you opt out via the tickbox below, your contact details will be used to provide updates about this campaign or other local issues in your area.
