Low on iron? Take part in our survey for everyone with a bleeding disorder

This survey aims to understand your experience of iron deficiency and/or iron deficiency anaemia as a person affected by a bleeding disorder, as well as the care and treatment you have received.

You are welcome to fill out the survey based on both your past and/or current experiences. However, we ask that you respond to questions on treatment and care based on your experiences within the last five years. This is because we are aiming to understand the monitoring and care currently provided by healthcare services. These questions will be indicated below with 'based on the last five years...'.

Note: Iron deficiency and iron deficiency anaemia are different. You can have iron deficiency without having anaemia.
  • Anaemia is when the number of red blood cells, or the haemoglobin (a protein that transports oxygen in the blood) concentration in them, is lower than normal. This decreases the ability of the blood to carry oxygen to the body. A common cause of anaemia is iron deficiency.
  • Iron deficiency is where your iron, which is essential for producing haemoglobin, is low. Your ferritin levels can show how much iron your body has.
