Criteria
To be eligible for nomination to a Board office, applicants must hold either a Professional or Regular NCDA membership for a designated period based on the position they are seeking. The NCDA Secretary position requires at least 3 consecutive years of membership. Candidates must also have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the career development field and have demonstrated past service in NCDA or a State CDA (committee involvement, commission engagement, state leadership, etc.)
In addition to expertise in career development, the Nominations and Elections Committee seeks leaders who demonstrate a strong commitment to NCDA, have a working knowledge of the association’s governance, and possess a collaborative temperament that supports group consensus, collective wisdom, and strategic vision.
Ideally, Secretary candidates should possess strong organizational and listening skills to accurately capture the minutes, action items, motions, and voting.

Any member in good standing may make nominations, and self-nominations are welcome.
