Program Overview
The Chamber ALX proudly presents Leadership Alexandria—a transformative, nine-month civic leadership program designed to inspire, educate, and connect both emerging and established leaders in our community.
This immersive experience equips participants with the tools, insights, and relationships needed to drive meaningful impact in Alexandria and beyond. Through a curated blend of exclusive access, professional development, and peer connection, Leadership Alexandria is your gateway to leadership with purpose.
Alexandria Up Close and Personal
Go behind the scenes of Alexandria’s most influential institutions. Engage in candid conversations with elected officials, business leaders, nonprofit executives, public safety experts, and cultural innovators. Understand how the city works—and how you can help shape its future.

Leadership Development Training
Leadership Alexandria uses the acclaimed Work of Leaders framework, grounded in years of research, to develop leadership through the lens of Vision, Alignment, and Execution. This model simplifies the complexity of leadership and provides a clear path for growth—both personally and professionally.

Small by design, the cohort fosters deep, lasting relationships among a diverse group of changemakers. Collaborate, learn, and grow with peers who share your commitment to making a difference in Alexandria.
Logistics
The class will meet once a month on a Friday for a full day of programming from approximately 9:00am-5:00pm.

Program Cost
Program cost for Leadership Alexandria is $5,000
Tuition is due by August 15, 2026 and is payable by check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

By submitting the application you acknowledge that you understand the cost and time required and will participate if selected.

Applications should be submitted online. The Chamber ALX will notify all applicants of their acceptance status by July 31, 2026.

Financial Assistance
Leadership Alexandria has a limited number of small partial scholarships available. Scholarships are not guaranteed. If you would like to be considered please make sure you complete the scholarship section of the application.

If I am unable to comply with the requirements, I will voluntarily withdraw from the program. I understand that in the interest of the class experience for all participants, any participant may be removed from the class if, in the opinion of Leadership Alexandria, that participant’s conduct is not conducive to the work of the group.
