Dear Ann Arbor community member,

Thank you for your interest in the Recreation Advisory Commission! For information about RAC's history, current members, and meeting details, please visit http://www.a2schools.org/Page/5256.

RAC reviews applications and submits candidates for approval to Ann Arbor City Council or the Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education, depending on the vacancy.

RAC is looking for applicants who:

1. Have a strong interest in recreation in Ann Arbor, preferably with a connection to AAPS Rec & Ed as a participant or parent of participant, instructor, coach, etc.

2. Will serve as positive ambassadors for Ann Arbor Public Schools' Community Education and Recreation ("Rec. & Ed") department and the City of Ann Arbor's Parks and Recreation department.

3. Enjoy discussing and advising Rec & Ed and the City of Ann Arbor on recreational issues.

4. Will bring recreational issues and concerns to RAC's attention.

5. Will dependably attend RAC meetings (4 per year, with possible additional meetings as needed).

The seats open at present are all appointed by the City Council, so applicants must be City residents.

RAC's Membership Committee will review all applications and select candidates to nominate for City Council approval.

The Recreation Advisory Commission strives to represent Ann Arbor and all its diversity, including gender, socioeconomic status, lifestage, race, nationality, handicap status, geographical location within the community, etc. If you wish to share any special interest or perspective you are able to represent, please do so.
