Criteria

To be eligible for nomination to a Board office, applicants must hold either a Professional or Regular NCDA membership for a designated period based on the position they are seeking. The NCDA President-Elect-Elect position requires at least 6 consecutive years of membership. Candidates must also have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the career development field and have served in a leadership role within NCDA or a State CDA (such as on a board or as a committee or commission chair).

In addition to expertise in career development, the Nominations and Elections Committee seeks leaders who demonstrate a strong commitment to NCDA, have a working knowledge of the association’s governance, and possess a collaborative temperament that supports group consensus, collective wisdom, and strategic vision.

Ideally, President-elect-elect candidates should have served on the board before assuming the president-elect-elect position.

More detailed responsibilities for each position are included in the NCDA Policy and Procedures Manual (Link to Manual). The job description for President-elect-elect begins on page 16.
